History
According to old parents and other heads of
the village say that this school started as an academy in 1906
at Nagahawatta. The reason is for opening this school is , in that
area there was no school for children. They had to go to a school far away
from their homes. First the head of Middeniya Vidyalaya,
had worked as the principal . There were 10 students and 1
teacher . The students had selected from Siyarapitiya
Vidyalaya. Later (1926) it has become as a mixed school with 2
girls. This school got the government
patronage after 1926 . According to logs this school got a
permanent principal in 1943.
